Although Single-cell RNA sequencing has revolutionised research with all the meaning of the word, an important aspect is still missing. During a single cell experiment, tissues are dissociated to yield single cell suspension hence the specific location and spatial orientation of cells are lost.Crowned the method of the year by nature, spatial transcriptomics is emerging in the horizon. By noting the spatial location of cells and populations, it became very feasible to determine the communication between neighbouring cells and the niche composition with high certainty.
